Welcome to our FAQ section for DAVIS4DISTRICT4. Here you'll find answers to common questions about our campaign, vision for Lancaster and how you can get involved. We pride ourselves on transparency and commitment to our community.
Your questions, our commitment
We believe in an open dialogue with the residents of District 4. This section addresses the most pressing topics and concerns that shape my campaign for city council. My approach is rooted in serving you, ensuring every voice contributes to a stronger, more vibrant community.
In simple terms, what are the most important things you want to achieve for our community if you're elected?
If I am elected, these are the most important things I want to achieve for our community:
• Improve Safety: Work with local law enforcement and community groups to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. Combat the random ghost shooting in our neighborhoods.
• Support Local Businesses: Help small businesses grow and create more jobs by offering resources and reducing barriers.
• Enhance Education: Invest in our schools and after-school programs so that every child has the chance to succeed.
• Promote Cleanliness and Green Spaces: Keep our parks, streets, and public areas clean and well-maintained, and add more green spaces for families to enjoy.
• Listen to Residents: Make sure everyone’s voice is heard by holding regular community meetings and being available to talk about your concerns.
• Encourage Community Spirit: Organize events and programs that bring people together and make our community stronger and more connected.
My main goal is to make our community a better, safer, and more welcoming place for all of us.

What are the biggest challenges or concerns you hear about from people in our district, and how do you plan to tackle them?
Based on community feedback and ongoing conversations with residents, several recurring challenges and concerns have emerged within our district:
• Infrastructure:
• Residents frequently mention issues with road maintenance and traffic congestion. Safe pedestrian crossings and bike lanes are also in demand.
• Public Safety:
• Community members are concerned about rising crime rates and the need for stronger neighborhood policing, along with better street lighting and emergency response times.
• Affordable Housing:
• The cost of living and housing affordability are major worries, especially for young families and seniors. People want more options for affordable rentals and homeownership.
• Healthcare Access:
• Many residents struggle with access to primary care and mental health services.
• Environmental Concerns:
• Issues such as waste management and the need for green spaces are raised. Citizens want to see more sustainability initiatives.
Plans to Address These Challenges
To tackle these concerns, the following strategies are proposed:
Education Initiatives:
- Advocate for increased school funding, support teacher development, and expand after-school and tutoring programs. Work with school boards to address overcrowding and curriculum improvements.
Infrastructure Improvements: - Collaborate with other community leaders to prioritize road repairs, expand public transit routes, and enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety. Seek grants for neighborhood beautification projects.
5. Enhanced Public Safety: - Partner with law enforcement to implement community policing, invest in street lighting upgrades, and organize neighborhood watch programs.
7. Affordable Housing Policies: - Support new affordable housing developments, incentivize landlords to offer fair rents, and provide assistance programs for first-time homebuyers.
Healthcare Expansion: - Work with healthcare providers to establish more clinics, expand mental health services, and promote preventative care through local outreach.
Environmental Initiatives: - Launch recycling and composting campaigns, secure funding for parks and green spaces, and encourage community involvement in sustainability projects.
By listening to the voices in our district and taking proactive steps, we aim to build a safer, healthier, and more vibrant community for all residents.
